Why Age is Your Advantage: Business Wisdom for Entrepreneurs in Their 40s and Beyond

Good afternoon SuiteMates this is Mike I'm the founder and CEO of SuiteDash today we're tackling two challenges staying fit and building a thriving business and believe it or not SuiteDash can help with both so today we often hear about startup culture and people starting businesses and I think too often that starting a business or startup culture is equated with 20y olds or 30y olds you know young go getter these extraordinary Geniuses but I'm here to tell you that's not the case so let's talk facts studies show that overwhelmingly the most successful businesses are started by 40y olds or 50y olds not 20 year-old and 30y olds and why is that well there's a lot of reasons but one is just experience is a major

Factor and being able to start and run a successful business you know having been there before having experienced UPS experienced the down been disappointed kicked in the teeth these things all happen along the way and they make you better more resilient and more calling during places where others might freak out and make a bad decision a more experienced CEO is more likely to guide the company in a responsible way that thinks longterm and is less prone to rash decision making that could kill the company also another reason is networks CEOs that have been around a while know people they know who to call they know how to make things things happen and

This is not something that you get with someone right out of the gate in their 20s or 30s another factor is more experienced CEOs and more experienced business people understand that you can't be the greatest at everything and therefore it makes sense to delegate to find people that can do things as well or better than you and put them in charge of that with appropriate checks so that you spend most of your time doing things that only you can do and to go right along with that it follows that these more experienced CEOs have learned how to be leaders they've learned how to rally the troops how to keep a team happy how to engage with each team member and move them into their best possible Lane of positive work there's a certain social IQ

Or human intelligence quotient maybe you would call it that comes along with being in business for a long time and being around other staff members and other teammates for a very long time and intelligence is very helpful when it comes time to move a team positively in the same direction so for those of you in your 40s 50s or even 60s or even 70s don't worry this is not a Young Person's game this is your game you are prime for this you are ready your life experience has made you better and made you ready for this but let's be honest we also have other things going on that young people don't have and that is we have families and kids

And we have hobbies and we have things that we help out with in our communities and a lot of timec consuming things that are also in our lives and that's one of the greatest strengths of SuiteDash when it comes to helping entrepreneurs like yourself if you'll spend the time to structure your business properly and then use software to help streamline your systems processes and automations it will require less time of you and you'll have more time for the things in your life that matter and another one of those things yes is Fitness and while I'm not the most fit person in the world that's for sure I do make an effort and one of my favorite places to run is right here at this little state park by the ocean in the dunes it's beautiful but

If you're doing everything manually you may find that it's very difficult to find time to get away for these types of things to take care of yourself so that's where software comes in let's software do the work let software make things a little more tolerable for you as far as your schedule and get out and take care of yourself the more fit you are the better you think the better you feel the better you move the better you look the better you perform and if you're running a business this is a big big deal get good sleep take care of yourself do all these things use automation use software use every possible advantage to get yourself more time so you can take care of yourself and be in good shape for your company for your family for your life [Music]
